The Print Industry

Home » Why Choose an Allegra Marketing Franchise » The Print Industry

We serve the multi-billion dollar market for marketing, print, sign and graphics communications services. Read how the print industry is still alive and thriving.

The global printing market is estimated at $740 billion, with the U.S. market at $77 billion, with stable growth predicted through 2026, according to Research and Markets. The digital printing segment is especially promising, with Allied Market Research predicting it to reach $4.3 billion by 2026, nearly double the size of the segment in 2018.

The printing industry continues growing as printed materials are still extensively used by businesses, organizations and the community at large. Allegra Franchise Members offer their customers the convenience of online ordering and print management through e-commerce to increase sales, client loyalty and satisfaction. In addition, Franchise Members develop web design, email campaigns and social media strategies for their customers, often tapping into our headquarters-based Alliance Resource Center for help with additional design assistance.

Print’s Lasting Impact

Print is far from being a dying industry. Even with the power of hand-held computers in our daily lives, research shows that consumers are still more likely to open direct mail over emails. They’re also more likely to take action after viewing a printed ad than after exposure to digital marketing.

According to Small Business Trends, consumers open 80%-90% of direct mail but only 20% to 30% of email marketing.

Print tends to be more memorable, research shows. A study by neuromarketing firm TrueImpact for the Canada Post compared the brain’s response to direct mail pieces with digital media such as emails and displayed ads. Researchers found direct mail requires 21% less cognitive effort to process than digital media, making it both easier to understand and more memorable.

Participants in the study were asked to cite the brand of an advertisement they had just seen. Recall of the direct mail pieces was 70% higher than digital ads.

While digital plays an increasingly important role in marketing, it’s clear that the print industry is here to stay.

Diversified Services and Multiple Revenue Streams

Printing and marketing franchises like Allegra that increasingly offer digital services are most likely to thrive as the industry evolves. Print has proven its longevity, but the key to sustainability in any industry is to evolve and anticipate your customers’ needs.

Allegra Marketing Print Mail Centers do this by offering a variety of services that provide multiple revenue streams to our Franchise Members. The team at every franchise location works with clients to find creative solutions to their business and communication challenges. Marketing, direct mail, custom printing, signage, graphic design and promotional items are all part of your clients’ overall success.
